GoPro’s investor relations call is happening next week, and this is the time of year where they want investors to stay invested (for lack of a better word) on what GoPro’s plans are for the coming year.
GoPro themselves said on a social media platform that some “announcements” regarding their future hardware will be coming next week.

What interests me are the following points:
Both the GoPro Hero 13 and GoPro Max 2 have seen steep discounts lately and have been on sale.

Usually, you don’t offer these types of discounts and sales unless you’re trying to lower inventory to make room for new models.
With there being no flagship Hero 14 last September, GoPro may consider shifting their release schedules to stay ahead of the competitions release dates.
Personally, I can’t see a Max 3 release this year, I think it’s just too soon. However, don’t forget, Insta360 have the X6 coming up in April/May and GoPro will want to come up with something to retain their share of the 360 market. GoPro could shift their strategy to the same as Insta360 and release a slightly updated GoPro. The Max 2 “S” edition. So same camera, just slightly updated features.
I think that’s unlikely, but still a possibility, after all, the Max 2 is missing some key features that Insta360 has been offering since the X2. So we could even be looking at some new features unlocked via a firmware update. Fingers crossed on that one.
Another possibility is an early release of the GoPro Hero 14. Maybe GoPro won’t wait until September to release their next model camera, maybe they’ll go for an early or mid summer release.
Obviously this would be a huge advantage for GoPro. Releasing a flagship camera when evenings are getting darker, weather is more uncooperative has never been a good choice in my opinion. You really want to show off the camera and what it can capture and the best time to do this is during the summer when people are on holidays and having adventures.
An earlier release date by GoPro would honestly be a welcome move for consumers who want an action camera for recording their summer adventures.
So what’s the most likely thing to happen?
I personally suspect that GoPro’s key announcements will be:
1: The next model camera’s will have larger sensors (1”) for filming on low light.
2: The next model camera’s will be powered by the GP3 processor (faster, more power efficient etc).
3: A slight update on GoPro’s motorbike helmets with integrated cameras and HUD’s.
4: GoPro’s roadmap to include a “prosumer” model camera.
There will be some other tidbits about market share, GoPro subscription retention and expansion, however nothing ground breaking there.
I did actually think it was interesting though that GoPro did publicly announce that there would be camera news coming about their next models. To me that indicates that they want to get consumers excited and looking forward to what’s next and hey guess what? Their plan worked because I’ll be waiting with great interested to see what’s coming next!

If you purchase goods from said external sites I get a small fee for said purchase. This money is used to fund and support Demonview.com and related channels. I promise to use said cash for only “Good” purposes and not to create an army of genetically engineered hamsters to take over the world. I have to admit though, that would be kinda cool, I mean imagine being approached by an army of hamsters and thinking “Oh look how cute they are, they got little helmets and little uniforms and little combat ready weaponry…” and then blam! before you know it, you’ve been defeated by an army of cuteness! I mean, think how embarrassing that would be for you. But still, I would never do such a thing, after all, I don’t believe in genetically experimenting on animals. If anything, I’d invest the money in a CYBER HAMSTER army instead! Yeah, robot hamsters that will take over the world…. anyway, point being, affiliate links are present in this article and be aware of that. The hamster cyber army ruling the world may just be on your head!
